What happened
Google Health version 5.11 is rolling out for Fitbit trackers and the Pixel Watch. Automatic activity tracking now recognizes up to 100 activities, up from 10, including strength training, swimming and team sports. Google says detection is nearly twice as accurate.
Why it matters
If you forget to start a workout, the app can log it for you after about 15 minutes of activity. Sleep tracking also gets better at catching short wake-ups, and glucose data from Abbott’s Lingo sensor can now connect directly in the US.
OTN take
Our take: this is an official Google update, already on iPhone and still arriving on Android. It works on the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 3 and newer. Confirm or edit a few detected workouts so it learns your routine.
