Samsung’s sleep apnea check gets more detailed.

What happened
Samsung upgraded the sleep apnea feature on Galaxy watches and the Galaxy Ring. Before, it only gave a yes or no. Now an AI estimates how often your breathing is interrupted each hour, and rates it mild, occasional or frequent. The US FDA cleared it in July, and Korea just approved it.
Why it matters
Sleep apnea means your breathing stops and starts while you sleep, and many people don’t know they have it. You need two nights of at least five hours within ten days. It starts in Korea in November on the Watch Ultra 2, Watch 9 and Galaxy Ring.
OTN take
Our take: this is official, but other countries don’t have dates yet. It’s a screening tool, not a diagnosis. If it flags something, take the result to a doctor.
