What happened
Asus’s new Zenbook 14 starts at 799 dollars in the US. It has a 14-inch OLED screen, with deep blacks and rich colors, and weighs under 2.5 pounds. You can pick an Intel, AMD or Qualcomm chip.
Why it matters
The lid has a ceramic-like coating that resists scratches and fingerprints. Asus promises up to 21 hours of battery, enough for a long day and more. At this price, it goes up against Apple’s MacBook Neo and the new Googlebooks.
OTN take
Our take: this is official, with prices from Asus. Battery claims come from Asus’s own tests, so real use may be shorter. Check which chip you’re getting before you buy. For a light laptop with a great screen, it’s worth a look.
